Rickie Fowler: The Unexpected Addition
With the Ryder Cup coming soon, it is no surprise that Tiger Woods would be chosen as one of the players that can represent the country in the tournament. However, most golfing fans are raising their eyebrows with the addition of rookie golf player Rickie Fowler.
Fowler is a 21 year old rookie who had just turned pro last December 2009. Ever since being picked as a player for the Ryder Cup, he is now dubbed as the very first rookie to ever be on the PGA tour American team.
When the team managers announced that they were getting Fowler, it was a big surprise and a mystery to all golfing fans. The rest of the lineup includes more experienced players such as Zack Johnson and Stewart Cink. They are both major champions and have been part of the Ryder Cup in the past years.
When asked about what he could bring to the team, Fowler just replied that he hopes to be able to pump up the team by bringing a new kind of energy to the game with his youth and vitality. This is really going to be an exciting game because of the new addition.
The Ryder Cup is scheduled to start from October 1 to 3. Fowler is said to be the youngest player to ever participate in such a prestigious game since Tiger Woods joined the tournament in 1997.
Let’s see how Fowler fairs against his opponents during the games. This is one tournament that will be worth watching.
